What’s New In The Rachio App

While our watering app is already the best in the business, we’re always working to make improvements. With Rachio app version 4.14, we listened to customer requests for streamlined navigation and made it easier to find common features for all our users.

What’s New?

Streamlined navigation

Users can now switch between multiple devices like Rachio 3 or Rachio Smart Hose Timer with just a tap!

• To switch devices, look for your active device at the top of the screen and tap the triangle drop down button to switch devices.
• You can hop between Rachio Sprinkler Controller, Smart Hose Timer, and Tempest Weather Station with just one tap.

Easy access to common features

You can now find popular app functions like account menu and device settings at the top of your screen, no matter which device you’re using.

• For account menu, tap the profile image on the top right corner of the screen. This profile icon is now static throughout the app for easy access.
• For device settings, tap the gear icon on the top right corner of the screen (next to the profile icon). This device settings icon can also be found throughout the Rachio app.

More organized

New bottom menu is organized to provide quick info on past waterings, schedules and more.

• “Events” (formerly “Home”) displays events like weather, watering schedule adjustments, and water usage.
• “Zones” and “Valves”: When you select your Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller device, you’ll see “Zones” in the bottom middle of the screen; this displays images and details about each zone in your yard. When you select Smart Hose Timer, you’ll see “Valves” in the bottom middle of the screen; this will show each valve in your yard.
• “Schedules” shows the schedules you've created, as well as upcoming calendar events, all in one easy-to-digest section. Looking for your calendar? It can now be found under Schedules.

Weather for Smart Hose Timer

The Rachio app now has a weather feed for your device! Check it out to see how weather conditions could impact your watering.

• To find the new weather widget, select Smart Hose Timer at the top of the screen and tap the Events tab.
• "Tap the weather widget to see the 10-day forecast for your scheduled waterings, as well as any Skips resulting from rain."
• TIP: You can supercharge your weather by combining a Tempest Weather Station with your Rachio device. Together, they can track the weather in your yard to provide you the most accurate forecast and adjust your Rachio schedules. You can connect your Tempest Weather Station to your Rachio device in the Rachio app from the weather feed by tapping “Add Tempest Weather Station”).
