With just a few variants, Rain Bird Rotary Nozzles cover almost any yard. Adjustable throw lengths cover small, medium and large distances between heads. Or pick up a 360-degree nozzle for heads in the middle of the grass.
Installation Tips
Consider Layout
Before you begin, it’s helpful to measure the distance between heads and draw a diagram of your yard. You want nozzles that can reach the nearby heads. Arc adjustment is dictated by head placement.
Replace your nozzles
These nozzles can replace any female-threaded nozzle. This means they can easily work with any male-threaded spray body you have without any special tools.
Adjust the arc
If you have an adjustable arc nozzle, press down on the top of the nozzle and turn to adjust the arc angle from 45 to 270 degrees.
Distance adjustment
Use the collar ring to adjust the throw distance to reach nearby sprinkler heads.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the different products?
These nozzles vary by throw distance (how far they water in feet) and arc (the portion of the circle they cover in degrees). Choose a throw distance that matches the spacing between your sprinkler heads (you generally want head-to-head coverage to avoid dry spots).
How do I select the right nozzle?
Measure the distance between each sprinkler head and choose a nozzle with a radius range that matches that spacing. Each option has an adjustable arc and a specified radius range.
What tools do I need to install these?
No tools are required. If you want to make removal and adjustment easier, we recommend the Rain Bird Nozzle Adjustment Tool.
How many nozzles do I need?
You will need one nozzle per sprinkler head you’re replacing. If you have a mixed zone with rotor nozzles, we suggest using the Rain Bird 5000 Series MPR Rotor Nozzles because they have the same precipitation rate.
How do I adjust the adjustable arc nozzles?
The white line on the adjustable arc nozzle is the left edge of the watering area. You can push down on the nozzle and twist to reduce or increase the arc of the watering area.
How do I adjust the throw?
There is a collar that you can twist counterclockwise to reduce the throw distance and clockwise to increase the throw distance.
How do I flush the nozzle?
Rain Bird Rotary Nozzles are designed to reduce clogging, but if debris builds up you can pull up on the nozzle to flush it out.
