Contractor account questions

Tree's and shrubs

We too have areas of trees and shrubs/flowers all on drip lines, no bubblers. Our installer used the drip line to circle the trees 3-4 times to give them more water for deeper watering. Seems to work and all are thriving.

Not sure I understand your #7 that “…wireless will begin to suck soon.” It certainly has its issues today, but with WiFi6 delivered, mesh routing, speeds up to 1gbps, etc., I see the trend going positive, not negative. I’d appreciate your thinking here.

And at $140 per sensor at Amazon, this really ups the cost of a 16-zone system. I doubt I’d ever see enough water savings to make that cost-effective, nor would I welcome the complexity.

Cycle for people living on a well

The delay may be a decent interim fix, though I’d suggest a more permanent albeit costly one: sink the wellpoint deeper. Running a well dry, allowing it to refill, rinse and repeat, seems like a recipe for a cave-in or sinkhole.

Probably not the issue, but you might confirm your 120v outlet is wired properly with a circuit tester, i.e., hot is hot, ground is ground, and common is common.

Thanks to both @philosopher77 and @Linn for your suggestions and confirmation. Took me a bit of time to understand what you’re saying (novice, remember), but I think I get it. I’m almost a week into the new sod and so far, it is going well. I’m a bit reluctant to push my luck with mucking around in the soil until I get through this daunting period of new sod maintenance.
