Rain Sensor Installation Question

I recently replaced a Hunter Controller about 40 years old with a Rachio 3. Today I also bought a new rain sensor to install. There was wiring to an old dead sensor that I will use. I cut off the old sensor and wired the leads into the Rachio at S1 and 24 AC. I shorted the cable at the sensor end to test if… I then started a schedule to test the leads (before actually installing the sensor). As the schedule was running I opened up the short and my phone showed rain sensor activated, as expected. However, the schedule did not shut down. Is this normal? Do manually activated schedules ignore the rain sensor?

I could be wrong, but believe you are right. A forced run seems like it would ignore any sensor, skips, etc.
