Rachio 3, 8 zones wiring help

Help. New Rachio 3, 8 zone connected. Zone 1 worked once but not the other zones. Tried a few things but now nothing is working. I know VERY little about my system. I do not have sensors. Zone 1 (front yard) is bundled separately than zone 2-5 (back yard). Photo of old set up and my new Rachio attempt provided. Please respond as if I’m in kindergarten

Is it possible the COM (white) wires are pushed too far into the connector that the connector is clamping down on the insulation instead of the wire?

Thanks. Not sure if it was that or the Wi-Fi but seems to be working now. Of course, now I have a faulty zone so trouble shooting the next thing…
