Hung controller on a specific zone? In-line fuse ever tried?

I recently had to purchase a new rachio 3. Spending that much money for only a few years after the warranty period was frustrating. After pondering and keeping an eye on the new controller I potentially figured it out. I think maybe the common symptom looking back is that I got a short blue light above station 9. I plan to replace that solenoid to be wise. BUT, rachio design should be more robust than to burn up over a bad outdoor low voltage wire connection or bad solenoid that is often in dirt. I plan on going the extra mile and putting inline fast blow fuses on the common wire just before it lands on the controller; and the station 9 wire. Has anyone had similar experience? And I guess my ultimate goal here is that if this works… I think it’s worth spreading the word that if you get a hung controller on a particular station more than once, do this sort of fix before letting the controller burn up on you.
