EveryDrop Installation Question

I am trying to find out the best way to connect 1004-EX to my Rachio which is about 50 feet away. Can’t seem to find a reasonably-priced direct burial shielded twisted wire - any suggestions?

Has anyone tried to connect using direct burial cat6 ethernet wire (using two wires of a twisted pair)? If the signal works for 10GB internet, I am guessing it should work for the water meter too? People have used this approach for other sensors (eg. HVAC) but I cannot find any for a water meter. I am not really concerned about the accuracy (100 vs 120 gallons) but rather with large changes signaling leaks or pipe breaks.

Thanks. Anyone use a Cat6 shielded twisted cable direct bury cable? Maybe join two pairs (since it is only 23 Gauge wire)?

Never heard of this. Wouldn’t be worth the experiment. This is an “outdoors” problem, you know.
